The third of the most infamous FE5 maps. Just one final challenge before the final chapter with this nightmare of a map. We are infiltrating the Loptian temple, Augustus briefs Leif about finding Eyval, then using a warp mechanism in the center of the area in order to warp straight to where Veld is hiding in order to take him out. This map is a total mess, and this set of pictures sums up part of the reason why:

There are constant enemy reinforcements of Rewarp Sorcerors, who will warp in and block my path on a narrow corridor. There are status staff users, Fenrir tome Sorcerors, enemies get get Warped in from the bottom room in the map that have Sleep Swords. The enemy Sorcerors have Hel tomes that drop HP to 1 upon hit. And to top it all off, there are invisible tiles spread out around the map that instantly warp a unit to an inescapable box, where the only way out is by warp/rescue magic, or death. Did I mention that this is also a Dark map and an Escape chapter?

This is a map where it is best to just unload Warp, Rescue and Rewarp as much as possible, and one where it is highly recommended to bring as few units as possible. I do not remember at all where any of the trap tiles are, and honestly I don't really feel like finding out.

We start the map by using a Torch with Leif and walking up to put the central room in sight range. From there, I use Sleep and Silence to shut down the status staff users in the central room. Enemies in that room stand on tiles that give +10 Magic, but since their magic stats are fairly low, it's still possible to hit them after using a Pure Water to buff magic. In some cases, they roll low on magic stat and having 20 magic is just enough to hit them without any assistance. After neutralizing the status staff users, I use Warp to throw Asbel into the fray and he just mops up the enemies in the area with Wind. I use Sarah and Safiya to also use Berserk staff to distract enemies in the bottom room and disrupt uses of Warp.

The following turn, Rewarp to bring Sarah over to Eyval, and star using Rewarp and Rescue to move everyone else into the center room. Leif, Lara and Halvan spend some time fending off reinforcement Sorcerors in the mean time. After that, I Rescue staff Leif to talk to Eyval, Rewarp Sarah into the center, then later Rescue Leif and Eyval with Rescue Staff. Once everyone had regrouped into the center, I escape and clear the map.

We have a full blown reunion with Eyval and all the members of the Fiana Freeblades, along with Galzus, who is Mareeta's real father. Finn also reveals to Eyval, who mentions about being washed up on the shores of Ys, with no memory of her past, that she may be Brigid, a noble of Jungby, who is the inheritor of the bow Yewfelle. However, that's a thing of the past and she feels that Finn is mistaken, as to her knowledge she possess no brand of the Crusader Ulir.

Now, time to finish the game and defeat Veld.
