Chapter 6 - The Escape

Turns: 10 (116)
Resets: 1 (12)

Leif has escaped Munster castle and is in the town area. Augustus meets up with Leif, and tells us that there is a path towards the right side of the map to escape from without attracting too much attention. We get a bit more lore here as Leif decides to steel his resolve towards picking a fight against the Grannvale Empire and the Loptian Order. Legend has it that petrification magic can only be reversed through use of a staff known as the Kaia staff. However, the staff is in the hands of the Loptian Order and its power is locked such that the only ones who can use the staff have to be direct descendants of the Loptian Archbishop, Manfloy.

This chapter is a bit of a breather compared to the previous ones. There is a squad of fairly strong enemies towards the left of the starting area in front of the main gate of the castle, but they do not move initially, and only start if I either attack/get attacked by some patrolling soliders in the town. For the most part, by the time I do get spotted, I have enough of a headstart over them so that they'll never catch me. I basically just slink away through the right side of the map, and have Karin fly towards the left end to visit houses on the far left giving the Paragon Skill manual and the Od Scriptures. Both valuable items. She'll basically be done her visits by the time everyone else reaches the exit on their end.

If I wait too long in this map, Galzus will show up and chase Leif's army down, but I'm done the map before he gets a chance to show up. He's very strong and has a 50% chance to move twice, so there is no chance at beating him. He's in the area because he has some connection to Mareeta. He helped free her and knocked her out and took the time to entrust her over to Saias to help lift the curse on her from to the Shadow Sword. That will be something for another time though.

We learn that Galzus is actually of Isaach nobility, but was from a house that betrayed their country and was destroyed for it, leading to him living a live as a mercenary struggling for survival. Both him and Mareeta have a brand of the mark of the Crusader Od like with characters like Shannan, Ayra, and Larcei.

One reset here because when escaping away on horseback with rescued units, I didn't pay attention to the fact that I escaped with the character holding Leif first. Oops.
