Chapter 4 - The Goddess's Rite of Rebirth

Monastery Exploration

This month's exploration is a bit of a slow month without much activity. I hit explore on each session as I focus a bit more on building up some supports and increasing prof rank. I should be in a good spot to recruit some characters soon, but still have nobody actually join me yet so I'm still with my base 9 characters.

Certifications:
Rikka - Monk
Felix - Fighter
Ashe - Fighter
Sylvain - Soldier
Ingrid - Soldier

Since Rikka now has Heal lerned, I decided to give her Monk as well as a second basic class. Tea Parties have also now been unlocked so having tea during Flayn and Claude's birthdays provide Rikka some much needed extra Charm.

Battle: Assault at the Rite of Rebirth

In maddening a whole 8 square diamond radius has been erased from the center of the map. And by that I mean the Death Knight moves if you get in his range. There's still a decent amount of room to walk along the outer edges of the map so this isn't that big of an issue as long as you just keep his attacking range visible at all times. The main threat in this map are the magic users, as they are pretty fast and relatively bulky in both def and res. The time limit is still 25 turns, which is still a non factor.

This map is a bit of a breather compared to the fog map. The enemies are fairly widely spread out along the map meaning that I'm rarely ever in danger of being overrun by the enemy forces. I split up my forces with Sylvain, Dimitri, Mercedes and Annette going left, while Rikka, Dedue, Ashe, Ingrid, and Felix headed right. My own units being generally a bit stronger now and learning a few more skills helps a lot in getting consistent KOs on enemies by two attacks, while using of Curved Shot provides me a lot more flexibility to throw a bunch of attacks into one enemy if needed.

The enemy movement in this map seemed... confused. There were a few times during the map where I moved into range of one enemy target in order to get a small group of them moving, only to have the other enemies in the group run... backwards? There was even a point in the map where Dimitri's group could have been put in a tight spot as a result of the reinforcement mages, but all of them decided to just run straight up the center of the map and right past his group? In any case, this just made the map even easier for me to get through. And while taking it slowly to get through the map safely, I still ended up with a good 7 turns to spare.
