Paralogue: Death Toll

Deploy: Rikka, Ignatz, Raphael, Dimitri, Lysithea, Mercedes, Annette, Dedue (Felix), Ingrid (Dorothea), Sylvain, Hilda

Ignatz and Raphael's Paralogue. We are heading to Alliance territory once again upon rumours that Gloucester is selectively attacking travelling Merchants and covering them up as attacks by wild monsters. The map has us rescuing some merchants and our group is split up. I have Lysithea, Annette, Dimitri, Rikka, and Ignatz on the left side of the map, while Raphael, Mercedes, Dedue, Sylvain, and Ingrid are on the right.

This map is fairly straight forward in terms of objective and game play. There are no enemy reinforcements, and also no Advanced Class enemies to worry about on this map, once the side objective of saving the merchants is complete, the map can be finished up at my own pace.

The first order of business is to secure the escape of the merchants, I have Ignatz stride my units and dash them downwards, to clean out the units around the raised drawbridge. The units on the right mostly just sit close to where they are and deal with the group of enemies that are around them. I have Dedue park himself in the trees and just let a bunch of the enemy units throw themselves at him. Once I have the enemies gathered in, I am easily able to control the situation by dropping a Fusillade on a group of them and stun them in place while I take down stragglers who are not rattled.

While I do get to the drawbridge quickly, the Wolf does approach pretty quickly, and not all the Mechants can get safely across the bridge in time, so another Stride is used to rush my units in to fight off the Wolf. The group of enemies in the center of the map start to stir, but move in a rather disorderly fashion as they get a bit confused on whether they want to move left to chase the Merchants, down to fight Rikka's group, or towards the right to fight my other forces. Somehow this does lead to one of the Merchants being targetted just before they can leave the map, which forces me to Warp someone over with Lysithea in order to block their path. After that, the map is mostly not a problem. There's some slight annoyances trying to take on Mages that were walking through the +40% evade thickets, but nothing life threatening.

We are able to save all the Merchants with ease, and get a few pieces of equipment for our troubles. A few throwing weapons, and somewhat importantly for me, a Killer Bow.
