Chapter 11 - Throne of Knowledge

Monastery Exploration

There isn't a whole lot to be done during Monastery Exploration now days, I pick up Alois and Catherine on to the roster and since my prof rank is close to the next level, I do some fishing to top off my exp. As mentioned I start raising my Armor skill rank with Faculty Training, but reaching D+ in order to recruit Ferd may take a while given that only two Faculty members provide armor. Hilda's Paralogue is the only Paralogue I can play at the moment and there is no rush to start that Paralogue, so I just perform Monastery Exploration every Weekend and do a bunch of Faculty Training. Leonie decides to Join my class at the end of the month.

Battle: Conflict in the Holy Tomb

It's time for some blasphemy. I like that Dimitri points out that Rhea actually seems extremely capable as a fighter as a "great warrior with an extensive military background". Something that it feels like isn't brought up much by people in the game who often act like she's someone who's in some desperate need to be protected.

Deploy: Rikka, Dimitri (Dedue), Sylvain (Hilda), Ingrid, Mercedes, Dorothea, Annette (Felix), Lysithea, Ashe

Anyways, we're taking a trip down to the Holy Tomb, and we are interrupted by the Flame Emperor, whoever that is. There's a few more extra enemies close by to the Flame Emperor, but there's about the same amount of enemies on the ground floor closer to my units. Some of the enemies as I get close to the Flame Emperor do have upwards of 50 Atk, so it is important to abuse my plethora of ranged attacks to keep distance while attacking, in order to not risk taking heavy hits in retaliation.

The key issue in this map is the need to chase after the Thieves to ensure they don't have the chance to escape after looting Crest Stones from the tomb. The starting positions for my units are also kind of spread out making Turn 1 Stride not really a valid option, so I have to play the first half of the map or some aggressively in order to keep the Thieves in check.

Lysithea and Annette have enough offensive output to be able to OHKO the Thieves and Brigands that are trying to steal Crest Stones, which is a huge help with quickly taking control over the initial objective in the map. I take advantage of the fact that those enemies do not initiate attacks on me, so I can brazenly just walk my magic users right up to them and just take them out as I go. Lysithea and Dorothea take the Right side of the map, while Annette, along with some support from Sylvain and Ashe go towards the left. I use Dimitri as a bit of a decoy by throwing him right into the fray just below the structure in the center of the map allowing him to draw the attention in from the Armors and Demonic Beasts in the area. Once the Thieves are all dealt with, I regroup and handle the enemies around Dimitri. The Demonic Beasts, having 25 Defense and about 160 HP across 2 HP bars can take quite a beating before going down, so I deal with them by first getting a quick Barrier Break and focus on KOing one of them, then take out the other one with a bunch of ranged attacks. Once we've cleared out the center area, things are under control and can be cleaned up at my own pace.

By throwing a Deadeye at Matoday, I can get him and the Flame Emperor to move which makes it easy to get them to walk right into an encirclement and taken out at my initative. With that we stop the looting of the Holy Tomb, and get a nice second Knowledge Gem. Didn't need any Divine Pulse uses, although I could have needed one because I accidently left Dorothea in range to be attacked by an Archer, but she dodged both 58% accurate attacks where either one would have killed her.

The reveal scene for the Flame Emperor is very different with Dimitri involved, as he completely loses it and charges at Edelgard in a fit of rage, as he believes that she is the one responsible for the Tragedy of Duscur.
