Chapter 10 - Where the Goddess Dwells

The scene where Kronya, Thales, and the Flame Emperor talk between Chapter 9 and 10 plays out a bit differently in Blue Lions as Dimitri and Rikka actually end up catching the conversation and eavesdrop on it. Dimitri gets a dagger thrown at him, which appears to be a dagger he recognizes. Given the conversation we just had with him a few weeks prior at Christmas, I can't imagine what this dagger implies the identity of the Flame Emperor to be.

I decide that since I only have 5 characters left to be recruited, I should finish up the roster and poach the remaining students. Caspar and Petra can be picked up at any time for me, Leonie is at B support and can join my class at any time, and Raphael and Ferd share a requirement of needing Armor Skill, so I might as well take the time to recruit Ferdinand and Raphael and finish the roster. Though it will take a bit of time to get this done.

I only have two Paralogues left to do before the end of Part 1 of the story so now I have a lot more time on my hands to stick to Monastery Exploration to either build up my Skill levels or gain prof exp.

Paralogue: Falling Short of Heaven

Ashe and Catherine's Paralogue. We are heading off to somewhere along with Rhea to personally execute the lead bishop of the Western Church. This is a defend chapter in the middle of a fog, which makes it... a bit of a pain. Also, unlike Hard mode where the enemy damage output was often too weak such that Rhea is never in any danger of death or even taking relevant damage, you do have to make sure that Rhea is safe on Maddening. Especially from the Assassins and Pegasus Knights, that come from the top side and right side of the map.

The map turns out to be fairly uneventful. Knowing the general idea of where most of the enemies are from previous plays of the map helps a lot as well. I open the map by spreading out my vision with torches, and head to the left side of the map, taking out one of the reinforcement commanders in the first turn. I know that some Pegasus Knights will be trying to fly over the small lake in between the center of the map and the east side where they spawn, so I have Dedue park himself on the edge of the lake. Dedue takes 0 damage from the Pegasus Knights and has Battalion Wrath activated, so he counter attacks with about 70% crit rate with a Killer Axe, which keeps the Pegasi in check.

The Assassins from the top left are a bit scary to be ambused by, so I generally kept some distance from the corner and let them come into visibility range of my units holding Torches. Once they are in sight, they can be easily taken out by use of higher accuracy Combat Arts, or by Lysithea who now has access to using the Macuil Battalion for +30% accuracy.

In general, I start from the left side of the map and sweep through clockwise with most of my forces. As it turns out, most of the enemies, aside from the mages on the left, are all physical attackers, so Dimitri can easily lead my forces without much worry about what he can or cannot see. I leave Dedue and a couple other units to stay close to Rhea and move through the bottom of the map to clean up the Cavaliers. We are able to rout the enemies by Turn 7. We pick up a Crit Ring, and the Boots. I use the Boots for Lysithea.
