Chapter 19 - The Golden Deer's Plea

Taking a month off on the detour back to Fhirdiad as led to the Empire wasting no time in regrouping and pushing back towards Alliance Territory. It sounds like Arundel has taken over the forces in the Empire. That... doesn't sound very good. In a sense, the world map situation is now similar to the state it is at the start of Crimson Flower, where the Kingdom is intact, and the Empire chooses to go after the Alliance first.

Dimitri's Paralogue is now available, so I will finally clear up the remaining Paralogues in this run.

Statue Upgrade:
Brawl +2

Paralogue: Retribution

Ferdinand and Lysithea's Paralogue. Duke Aiger is on the run and he is last seen in Hrym, which is now in a state of a mass riot. We head to Hrym to quell the chaos.

This map has a lot of enemies. Like, it starts with 57 of them and only more show up over time. We start right in the middle of a map full of enemies, though the group north of us won't start moving until we get in their range. The initial goal of the map is to visit some houses in the south and eastern parts of the map to save them from being demolished by rioters on the streets. There's four houses to visit, one on the far right, one a bit south from your left side starting positions, one a bit south from your right side starting positions, and one in the south east area of the map.

By this point in the game, Maddening has pretty much become a kill-or-be-killed kind of mode where half the enemy unit types will kill just about anyone on initiation. Usually, it's Swordmasters, Assassins, Warlocks, Pegasi, and Wyverns that are most dangerous when attacking. This map is full with Swordmasters, Assassins and Wyverns. Meaning that I have to be careful on this map, as to avoid getting myself surrounded by too many enemies. Fortunately, the map has a lot of winding streets and other cover for me to take advantage of my superior range game to safely attack enemies around the map.

To open the map off, I have Ingrid visit the house on the left side of the map. Between Alert Stance+ and Swordbreaker she is able to drop enemy Swordmaster accuracy to 0% and safely fly over to save it. Dimitri is Warped over to the right side of the map to save the house on the far right. Dimitri does a lot of the heavy lifting in this map as Battalion Vantage/Wrath gets put on full display, letting him easily dispatch enemy melee units. His 161 Accuracy also makes it so even through Axebreaker, his accuracy stat in combat is in the high 80s at worst, and his crit is 100%. In order to stop a unit from trying to Gambit me, as I warped Dimitri to the right, I have him drop a Gambit on the target first, rattling them and disabling their Battalion. I was actually intending for Dimitri to also be able to Battalion Vantage/Wrath against ranged attackers in the area as well, but realized I forgot to bring someone with Retribution after ending my first turn.

Dimitri spends most of this map sitting on the border of the northern part of town and spawn camping the enemy reinforcement Assassins and Wyvern Riders, while most of my remaining forces head downward to clean up those parts of the town. I had just repaired his Killer Lance+ before this map, and by the end of it it was pretty much broken again. Hilda, Flayn, and Lysithea also stayed around with Dimitri to help take out some other enemies that were approaching on the area.

The rest of the map goes fairly smoothly as Ashe and Annette's ability to attack with high power and accuracy at range 4 or 5 put in work. I'm easily able to strike at the enemies and pick and choose who I can feed KOs to, allowing me to focus on levelling someone like Petra who was a bit behind on levels on my team. In the event of any potential danger, I threw out some Gambits just to stun enemies and keep them occupied for a turn.

Eventually we make out way back up and regroup, then clean up the final quatrant of the map without too much issue. Saving all the houses we get a Lance of Zoltan and the Ochain Shield. Unfortunately, news is that Duke Aiger had already been killed.
